Buccaneers Get Set For RUN-Athlone Event

RUN-Athlone is a 10k race set on the outskirts of Athlone town starting from Dubarry Park. It is hosted by Buccaneers Rugby Football Club and will support the Special Olympics. The race takes place on Saturday, April 26 at 11am sharp.

The RUN-Athlone 10k race is open to people of all levels of fitness and offers a great opportunity for athletes to achieve a competitive time on a beautiful scenic route as the race will be professionally timed.

The course will be an accurate 10k route covering the Coosan area of Athlone.

There will be cash prizes of – 1st: €;200, 2nd: €;120 and 3rd: €;80 for both the male and female categories. All entrants will receive a goodie bag.

Online registration is €;20 via www.runireland.com and will be open until 3pm on Friday, April 25.

Manual registration the night before is €;20 in the Lower Deck Bar at Buccaneers RFC from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, April 25, where you can also register and collect your race number and chip during that time.

Late registration is €;25 in the Lower Deck Bar on the morning of the event.

There will be a great admin team there to assist you with any questions you may have coming up to the event. Minimum age for entrants is 18 years.
