Joe Schmidt Named Philips Manager Of The Month

Philips Ireland today named Joe Schmidt as winner of their Manager of the Month award for March. This is his third Manager of the Month award.

On March 15 in Paris, and in only his first year as the national head coach, Joe Schmidt saw Ireland crowned Six Nations champions by narrowly defeating France 22-20.

This was their first win in Paris since 2000 and their first Six Nations title since the 2009 Grand Slam success.

Prior to being confirmed as Ireland head coach in April 2013, Joe had been Leinster head coach for three years and guided the province to their second Heineken Cup title in his first season.

Leinster won back-to-back Heineken Cups in 2012 and the New Zealander signed off his tenure with Leinster by playing a key role in their treble in 2013 as they captured the Amlin Challenge Cup, RaboDirect PRO12 trophy and the British & Irish Cup.
