#ShoulderToShoulder: Tour Diary – Day 9, In The Pink

A busy day today as the squad get back to work. First up there was media for team manager Michael Kearney, Rory Best and Simon Zebo and the dress code was the pink polo shirt.

Day 9 – In The Pink

The backs assemble for a medical review before heading to the gym for a strength session, meanwhile the forwards will review the game and walk through some improvements.

Then they head off to the gym for the real heavy lifting and the backs return for their review meeting. All of that is done before lunch which is followed by a light training session in a local park.

Mid-afternoon is given over to packing as most of the team gear, equipment and non-essential personal items will be transferred to Tucumán by road overnight.

The official team picture takes place in the beautiful gardens in the team hotel with the usual banter kicking in. Check out our short time-lapse of the photo below.

After that there is an official reception for the squad and coaches with the Irish Ambassador and members of the local Argentinian Irish community.

Dress code for the picture and the reception was No. 1s  – that is the official team outfit from Eden Park and the lads certainly looked smart in the pink shirts. But for dinner out, there are the five words the lads like to see in the itinerary: ‘Dress code – as you wish’.

Being an Ireland player is a real privilege but sometimes it is nice to put on something of your own and relax.
