New Ireland Training Kit Kicks Off Canterbury Partnership

Ireland’s first training camp of the 2014/15 season has kicked off the new partnership between the IRFU and Canterbury.

Although players and supporters alike will be eagerly awaiting the launch of the home and alternate jerseys later this year, the Irish squad got their first taste of their new training wear yesterday when Joe Schmidt’s men gathered at their team base.

Supporters can register for information on the new training kit on the brand new Irish Rugby webshop http://shop.irishrugby.ie.

Canterbury CEO Chris Stephenson said: “Excitement is growing around the launch of the new Ireland playing kit, however our training range also plays a large role in this partnership.

“The players wear this daily while in camp and their conditioning is critical to on-field success. We’ve worked closely with the team to gain insight and made sure it not only looks good, but performs to the high standard consumers expect from us.

“We are very excited to be a partner to the IRFU, especially on the verge of the 2015 Rugby World Cup and a team in the ascendancy under the guidance of Joe Schmidt.”

IRFU Commercial and Marketing Director Padraig Power said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Canterbury. Their history and heritage in the game is second to none. We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship which enhances and strongly promotes both brands.”

The training kit provides some hints at the new jersey in that the green elements show off the new ‘Bosphorus green’ which the team will play in. Canterbury are providing a full range of training kit to Ireland including test fit training pieces, base-layers, contact shirts and luggage.
