Fans Asked To Select #WRWC2014 Dream Team

Nearing the end of an historic Women’s Rugby World Cup, you – the fans – are now being challenged to select a #WRWC2014 Dream Team.

In a year where the calibre of athlete competing in Women’s rugby has again reached new heights, four women have stood out among their peers in Paris, and gain automatic selection.

Voted on by the management teams of the 12 nations competing, the nominees for the prestigious IRB Women’s Player of the Year award are Ireland full-back Niamh Briggs, France number 8 Safi N’Diaye and Canadian duo, captain Kelly Russell and winger Magali Harvey.

With Russell and N’Diaye both wearing the number 8 shirt for their respective teams, the tournament organisers have given the French woman the number 6 jersey, but now it is up to you the fans to decide who has commanded your attention and respect throughout the best ever Women’s Rugby World Cup with their displays of strength, skill, power and pace. 

Using the hashtag #WRWCTeam, fans can nominate players from any of the 12 teams in Paris via the tournament’s social media channels.
