Munster ‘A’ Off To Clonmel For British & Irish Cup Opener
Clonmel RFC will provide the venue as Munster ‘A’ open their 2014/15 British & Irish Cup campaign against Moseley on Saturday week (October 11). The game will kick off at 3pm.
Having lost in the inaugural British & Irish Cup final to the Cornish Pirates in 2010, the Munstermen went on to claim the title in 2012, doing so on home soil against Cross Keys at Musgrave Park on a comprehensive scoreline of 31-12.
Since then, Munster ‘A’ have suffered two consecutive defeats to Leinster ‘A’ in the knockout stages of the competition – exiting to their interprovincial rivals in the semi-final of 2013 and the quarter-final of 2014.
Not for the first time Munster ‘A’ travel to Clonmel RFC to open their British & Irish Cup campaign. In fact, the province will hope to avenge an opening 10-6 loss to the aforementioned Pirates in the Tipperary town back in 2011.
Tickets from just €;10 for adults, €;3 for kids and €;20 for families can be purchased now from the Munster Rugby Ticket Offices at Thomond Park and Musgrave Park, or from Clonmel RFC. Entry is free to all MRSC members, Season Ticket holders and Ten Year Ticket holders.
Munster ‘A’ also face Leinster ‘A’ as part of the interprovincial series this Saturday, October 4 at Donnybrook (kick-off 1pm).
