Portarlington Launch ‘Bring A Buddy’ Initiative

Portarlington RFC are launching their ‘Bring a Buddy’ initiative as they look to introduce rugby to some new faces.

The Co. Laois club are looking to encourage boys and girls of all ages to ‘give rugby a try’ and as an added incentive they are offering prizes that include a signed Leinster jersey, Leinster match tickets and various rugby merchandise items in a free draw for all new players and current club players who bring them along.

Portarlington RFC President Barry Lambkin explained the motivation behind this promotion, saying: “We want to give as many boys and girls as possible the opportunity to become part of a team in our club. There is a place on the rugby pitch for everyone regardless of their size or level of experience.

“Our coaches ensure that every player is involved in every game and that training session are planned to help all players, new and old, to develop their skills.

“It’s a great way to become part of a team and get out in the fresh air to get some exercise while have fun with friends.”

Anyone wishing to take up rugby in Portarlington can contact the club through their co-ordinators or on Facebook.
