Leinster ‘A’ Line-Up Announced For Carmarthen Clash
The Leinster ‘A’ team to face Carmarthen Quins in Saturday afternoon’s British & Irish Cup round 4 match at Donnybrook (kick-off 1pm) has been announced.
Leinster ‘A’ suffered their first defeat in the British & Irish Cup since October 2012 when they fell to Quins in round 3, the match finishing 26-24. An opportunity to make amends against the same opposition comes this weekend for Girvan Dempsey’s youngsters.
Luke McGrath, who played for the seniors in Treviso last Sunday, will captain the side from scrum half, with St. Mary’s College clubman Cathal Marsh completing the half-back pairing.
Mick McGrath, who has scored tries in the PRO12 against Cardiff Blues and Edinburgh already this season, will start on the left wing for Dempsey’s side.
Sam Coghlan Murray, who scored the province’s opening try against Carmarthen last month, and Cian Kelleher complete the back-three, while Tom Daly and Brendan Macken have been paired in midfield for Saturday’s match.
Hooker Aaron Dundon will be joined in the ‘A’ team’s front row by Lansdowne’s Ian Prendiville and Royce Burke-Flynn of Clontarf. Gavin Thornbury and Ben Marshall have been named in the second row, with a back row of Dan Leavy, Josh van der Flier and Peadar Timmins completing the front eight.
Supporters can pay at the gate for Saturday’s game. Ground entry is just €;10 for adults and €;5 for Under-18s. Access to the stand costs €;15 for adults and €;10 for Under-18s.
