Stevenson To Lead Ulster Ravens Against Carnegie

The Ulster Ravens team to play Yorkshire Carnegie in the British & Irish Cup at Laund Hill, Huddersfield on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 2.30pm) has been named.

There are seven personnel changes to the starting line-up following last weekend’s defeat away to Rotherham Titans. Michael Heaney and Josh Bingham come into the side to form an all-new half-back partnership for the Pool 2 clash, while full-back Peter Nelson is the other addition to the back-line.

Nelson’s inclusion causes a reshuffle in the backs division with Ricky Andrew moving to outside centre and Jacob Stockdale shifting to the left wing in place of Ross Adair. Ulster Under-20 stars Sam Arnold and Jack Owens are retained at inside centre and on the right wing respectively.

Lewis Stevenson is one of four new faces in the pack and he also takes over the captaincy from second row partner Neil McComb. Bronson Ross is retained at tighthead prop and is joined in the front row by Dave Ryan and hooker Paul Jackson.

New Zealander Ronald Raaymakers, who made his first appearance last week at lock, is switched to blindside flanker, with Sean Reidy coming in at openside and Charlie Butterworth again starting at number 8.

ULSTER RAVENS (v Yorkshire Carnegie): Peter Nelson; Jack Owens, Ricky Andrew, Sam Arnold, Jacob Stockdale; Josh Bingham, Michael Heaney; Dave Ryan, Paul Jackson, Bronson Ross, Lewis Stevenson (capt), Neil McComb, Ronald Raaymakers, Sean Reidy, Charlie Butterworth.

Replacements: John Andrew, Kyle McCall, John Donnan, Conor Joyce, Connor Young, Sean O’Hagan, Adam Liddell.
