Volkswagen Tag All Set For 2015

In 2015, IRFU Volkswagen Tag goes from strength to strength with the announcement of Donnybrook Stadium and Malahide RFC joining the already impressive list of host venues.

The new quality synthetic playing surfaces at Donnybrook Stadium will make this venue a very sought-after location to play tag for both newcomers and regulars to Ireland’s only official IRFU Tag rugby programme.

Also getting set for their first IRFU Tag season, Malahide RFC are delighted to welcome teams to play on their excellent pitches and enjoy the Summer season with events based around their amazing clubhouse and facilities.

Cork will see Spring Leagues introduced at the impressive Ballincollig RFC, a host club that has gained a reputation in excellence and fun for their Summer Leagues.

The growth of Tag has been greatly successful in spreading the popularity of the game of rugby. Its non-contact nature along with its social aspects have made it accessible to both men and women in the specially graded levels. It is also a valuable way for a rugby club to keep active outside of the main season, often welcoming new visitors, members, players or referees.

These leagues cater for all levels of skill and fitness in mixed social teams, and also at selected locations, Summer Leagues, Spring Leagues, Mens and Vets Tag (Men Over 33). As IRFU Volkswagen Tag is such great unmatchable value, a player in effect pays little more than €;4 per week to play in a nine-week season.

Teams signing up to play also qualify their players into an exclusive competition draw where they can win match tickets to see Ireland play at the Aviva Stadium and attend the game’s post-match team reception. These games include not only the RBS 6 Nations but also this year’s pre-RWC matches later on in the year.

Registration of teams to play is performed online only at www.irfutag.ie and will be open from 10am on Monday 12th January. As available places in popular host clubs tend to fill up before the end of January, it is strongly advised that teams sign up promptly in order to avoid disappointment.
