Ahead of Connacht’s GUINNESS PRO12 round 12 date with Benetton Treviso at the Sportsground on Sunday, the province’s medical team have provided the following update.
Darragh Leader sustained a knee injury at the conclusion of Connacht’s win over the Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade last Sunday. The 22-year-old full-back has been ruled out of this weekend’s game and the prognosis will be confirmed later this week following a review with the surgeon on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, prop Nathan White, a late withdrawal before kick-off in Newport, is struggling with a calf injury. He will be monitored this week before a decision is made on his involvement in the Treviso tie.
Ireland international Kieran Marmion will also be closely monitored this week as he continues to recover from the shoulder injury sustained two weeks ago against the Scarlets.
It is expected that prop Ronan Loughney, who has missed the last two PRO12 games due to an aggravated back, will be available for selection this week after returning to full training.
