Jackson Returns To Action With Ulster Ravens
Ulster and Ireland out-half Paddy Jackson will make his return from injury on Thursday when he lines out for Ulster Ravens against Munster ‘A’ in Nenagh (kick-off 4.30pm). Admission is free at Nenagh Ormond RFC.
Paddy Jackson dislocated his elbow against Toulon in January’s European Champions Cup pool match and will use Thursday’s ‘A’ interprovincial to get game-time ahead of the resumption of the GUINNESS PRO12 next week.
The selected Ravens team sees a mix of youth and experience, with Bronson Ross, John Andrew and Andrew Warwick forming the front row and Neil McComb and captain Lewis Stevenson linking up in the second row.
Former Ireland Under-20 back rower Frankie Taggart starts at blindside flanker alongside Ireland international Robbie Diack, who is named at number 8, and openside Sean Reidy.
Paul Marshall partners Jackson at half-back with Belfast Harlequins clubman Mark Best selected at inside centre. He is joined in midfield by Mike Stanley who started his first match for Ulster against the Newport Gwent Dragons last time out.
Rory Scholes will feature on the left wing, Ricky Andrew is named on the right and Hughes Insurance Academy player and current Ireland U-20 international, Jack Owens, starts at full-back.
Forwards Paul Jackson, Dave Ryan, Ricky Lutton and Stephen Mulholland join backs Dave Shanahan, Michael Heaney, Kieran Joyce and Jonny Rosborough on the province’s replacements bench.
