Connacht Injury List Grows Ahead Of Glasgow Game

Following a short break, Connacht return to GUINNESS PRO12 action next Saturday when current leaders Glasgow Warriors visit the Sportsground in Galway (kick-off 1.05pm).

Ahead of the crucial clash, the Connacht medical team provided the following update on a number of senior squad players who will be unavailable to Pat Lam and his coaching team.

Craig Ronaldson was a late withdrawal prior to the Ulster game two weeks ago when the out-half tore a quad muscle in the warm-up. Following an MRI and confirmation of a grade 2 tear, the 25-year-old is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks.

This Thursday will see Quinn Roux have surgery on the ankle syndesmosis injury he sustained in the interpro clash with Ulster. The South African is looking at two months’ recovery time which will see him return in time for the start of the pre-season period in the summer.

Fellow second row Michael Kearney had toe surgery today, with the recovery time for the Dubliner likely to be four months.

Tighthead prop Nathan White is required to undergo surgery on Wednesday to correct a lower back disc injury. The 33-year-old is expected to return to training in eight weeks’ time.

The westerners’ list of currently injured/unavailable players also includes Jason Harris-Wright, Sean Henry, Michael Swift, Mata Fifita, Willie Faloon, Jake Heenan, Conor Finn, Dave McSharry and Mils Muliaina.
