Armagh v Dungannon, Palace Grounds

Armagh finished second in Division 2B last season with eleven wins. They will be hoping to be in the mix again this season for promotion.

The season kicks off with an Ulster derby clash with Dungannon who were relegated from Division 2A. It will be a good test for both of these clubs.

Bective v Highfield, Donnybrook

The Donnybrook side also dropped down from Division 2A last season and they face a daunting opening game with the visit of last season’s Division 2B winners Highfield.

The Cork side lost only won game and notched up an incredible 12 try-scoring bonus points. A good start is half the work in the division and you would have to back Highfield to get out of the blocks first.

MU Barnhall v City of Derry, Parsonstown

Both sides dropped down from Division 2A last season with the new 10-team structures. They finished within a point of each other in the division. The home side took the win in a 40-point thriller last season.

Seapoint v Rainey Old Boys, Kilbogget Park

Two more teams from Division 2A who dropped down. Both of them struggled to make headway so it will be interesting to see if they have freshened up for the new season.

Last season they played out a 70-point game with Seapoint taking the spoils on a 39-35 scorelin.

Sunday’s Well v Greystones, Irish Independent Park

These two sides finished fourth and third respectively last season and will both want to mount a challenge for promotion at the business end of the season.

Sunday’s Well won this fixture on the road last season but it was a close game. Expect a similarly tight game on Saturday.
