Ulster Bank League: Division 2C Previews

Old Crescent top the Division with an impressive four from four, but Wanderers are in hot pursuit thanks to three bonus point wins.

Boyne (7^th) v Bruff (4^th), Shamrock Lodge
Boyne lost to Old Crescent in their last game but are still evenly balanced with two wins and two losses.

Bruff slipped to 4^th after their loss to Kanturk in a 50 point game but have had wins on their trips to Navan and Dundalk this season so the journey to Shamrock Lodge won’t intimidate them.

The visitors look better placed to take the win this weekend.

Dundalk (10^th) v Navan (8^th), Mill Road
Louth against Meath this weekend with both sides in need of a fillip.

Newcomers Dundalk are struggling with the league far and almost certainly face a dog fight all season.

Old hands Navan have had a poor start, albeit they have faced some tough teams.

Form probably favours the visitors unless the Mill Road surroundings can inspire the home side.

Kanturk (5^th) v Tullamore (6^th), Knocknacolon
Two great community based clubs will come head to head on Saturday and it promises to be a cracking day.

Both have won two from four so far and Kanturk have looked lively in getting two try bonuses and two losing bonuses.

Expect and good crowd and a good match – not to be missed.

Midleton (3^rd) v OId Crescent (1^st), Towns Park
Third against first, Cork against Limerick. What more do you need for a spicy affair in Towns Park on

Just two points separate them in the table but Old Crescent’s defence has been mighty to date.

A tough, tight match in prospect. Difficult to call.

Wanderers (2^nd) v Sligo (9^th), Merrion Road
Moving back to their Merrion Road stomping ground is unlikely to put a dent in Wanderers’s ambition to move the ball.

Three wins, three bonus points. Give them an inch and they will take it.

Sligo aren’t in the best shape as they travel to Dublin – a solitary losing bonus point their only reward thus far.
