Henshaw And White Train Ahead Of Connacht’s Clash With Edinburgh

Ahead of Saturday’s GUINNESS PRO12 encounter with Edinburgh, the Connacht Rugby medical team have provided the following injury update.

Hooker Tom McCartney has recovered from the gluteal strain that kept him sidelined last week. He is available for selection against Edinburgh in round 6.

Tiernan O’Halloran, who was named as captain against the Ospreys, suffered a concussion during the opening quarter of last Saturday’s game. The 24-year-old full-back will continue to undergo the return-to-play protocols this week and a decision on his involvement against Edinburgh will be made on Friday.

Danie Poolman missed out on the last round due to a hamstring injury sustained in training. The province’s top try scorer so far this season will continue to be monitored ahead of the team announcement on Friday.

Fellow back John Cooney also missed out against the Ospreys, having aggravated a rib cartilage injury. It is expected that the scrum half will be available for the Benetton Treviso game on Friday, November 6.

Fionn Carr’s recovery from a calf injury is progressing well and the winger is also expected to be available for the Treviso clash next week.

Meanwhile, Robbie Henshaw and Nathan White, two members of Ireland’s Rugby World Cup squad, both returned to Galway this week and took part in full training yesterday.
