Muldowney Sets Sights On Halloween Night Win
Ahead of his 50th appearance for Connacht, Aly Muldowney has said that the team expect a tough encounter with their Scottish opponents Edinburgh at the Sportsground on Saturday (kick-off 6.45pm).
“We know what’s coming at us,” said second row Aly Muldowney. “Edinburgh are a physical side that play a very direct game. They’ve had a pretty good start to the season and they’ll be hurting after their first loss last weekend to Zebre.
“They’ll probably have had a few honest meetings and training sessions this week, and they’ll be looking at us as an opportunity to get back on track.”
Both Connacht and Edinburgh have won four out of five games so far in this season’s GUINNESS PRO12, but Pat Lam’s men sit second in the table thanks to the four bonus points picked up along the way.
With this being a home fixture, Muldowney maintains that the crowd will play a big part in what is shaping up to be a mouth-watering round 6 clash.
“The biggest thing for us is that we’re at home. We have our vocal support behind us and we’re determined not to lose any games at home this season. Despite the opposition and whether they’ve got players back or not, we know the team, whoever they are, is there to be beaten and that’s what we want to do on Saturday.”
