Ulster Bank League: Division 2A Previews

The action continues in Division 2A this weekend with matches in Banbridge, Corinthians, Nenagh Ormond, Queens and Thomond. There was no change in the standings after last Saturday’s round of games. Will anyone buck the trend this time out?

Banbridge (1st) v UCC (4th), Rifle Park
The Bann continue to lead the way in Division 2A. Last week they went to Cashel and took the points in a tight affair.

This week they host 4th placed UCC who have racked up the points in their last few games.

A key game for both sides as Bann lead Malone by 6 while the students are just two point further back.

Corinthians (10th) v Naas (3rd), Corinthian Park
The Galway side took a bit of a beating against UCC last weekend and they face another top 4 side this weekend as Naas come calling.

The Kildare club have notched up 4 try bonuses so far with the help of Johne Murphy.

An away on the cards.

Nenagh Ormond (7th) v Malone (2nd), New Ormond Park
Nenagh got a good win on the road against Skerries last Saturday to keep them mid-table.

Malone make the trip to New Ormond Park this weekend on the back of last Saturday’s loss to Queens.

The Ulster side won well at the reverse fixture back in November.

Queens (6th) v Cashel (5th), Dub Lane
Queens pulled off a big win against Malone last time out in a cracking derby match.

This weekend they face a Cashel side smarting from their narrow loss to Banbridge.

Cashel still have a game in hand and if they win this weekend they could make it count.

Thomond (9th) v Skerries (8th), Liam Fitzgerald Park
Despite the best efforts of both clubs so far this season, Saturday’s match has a relegation battle feel about it already.

A win either way would provide a timely boost; although given Thomond have a game in hand it would have double the value for them in a way.

Skerries have leaked a lot of points this season and that could prove the key for Thomond.
