Ulster Bank League: Division 2B Previews

No movement in the division but Greystones gave the chasing pack a chink of light when they beat City of Derry last Saturday. Can they build on that this Saturday?

City of Derry (1st) v Dungannon (8th), Judge’s Road
City of Derry lost their second game of the league campaign last Saturday in Naas, but they still have a stranglehold on top spot as they lead the division by 12 points.

Saturday sees them at home to Dungannon – an Ulster derby they will be keener than ever to win.

Dungannon remain in the danger zone but with two games in hand on Bective, just above them in the table.

Highfield (2nd) v Greystones (4th), Woodleigh Park
Highfield made sure of their points last Saturday and remain in pole position to capitalise on any slip up by City of Derry – like last weekend’s loss to Greystones.

Can the Wicklow side do it two weeks running? It’s a tall order but if they do it would see them overtake their hosts.

A big game in Division 2B this weekend.

MU Barnhall (6th) v Sunday’s Well (3rd), Parsonstown
MU Barnhall enjoyed a good win on the road las Saturday when they beat Armagh 15 – 0.

Sunday’s Well beat Bective by a 22 point margin and sit just behind Highfield in the table.

The Cork side should be strong enough to maintain their winning form and their position in the Division.

Rainey Old Boys (9th) v Armagh (5th), Hatrick Park
Rainey haven’t seen much action recently with two games falling foul of the weather but they did put City of Derry to the pin of their collar a few weeks back.

Armagh’s top four challenge came a cropper last Saturday and they now trail Greystones by 7 points.

An away win is probable but you never know.
