MU Barnhall All Set for Volkswagen Tag Summer
In the first of a new series of articles looking at new or expanded host Volkswagen Tag clubs, we take a trip to Leixlip, Co.Kildare to find out more about the season at MU Barnhall RFC.
The addition of a club like MU Barnhall RFC to the list of venues is an huge and proud bonus to Volkswagen Tag. With the increasing growth of population centres in west Dublin and North Kildare such as Leixlip, Lucan, Maynooth and Celbridge (and beyond still), the club is a natural hub for tag players in the area to be drawn towards.
Now in its tenth year running, Volkswagen Tag is Ireland’s only official IRFU tag rugby programme and are the only leagues played at rugby clubs in all four provinces. Focus is honed in on its key values: social, mixed, non-contact, teamwork, fun, respect and fitness.
Leagues commence on Thursday, May 26th and run for nine weeks with Finals Night taking place on the 28th of July. Signing up a team to play at MU Barnhall RFC is easy and performed online by way of completion of registration form (see HERE) with an €;80 deposit of just €;525 team fee, securing your team’s place. Registrations close off once leagues filled and places are subject to availability, on a first-come, first-served basis.
