Where to send the Division 2B trophy this weekend? City of Derry were nailed on not so long ago but a losing streak of 5 games means that Highfield and Sunday’s Well are right in the mix this Saturday.

City of Derry (1^st) v MU Barnhall (5^th), Judge’s Road
It shows you how well City of Derry were doing that they have lost their last five matches but still sit top of the Division.

Can they turn their form around and seal the title and promotion slot that seemed theirs by right at the start of January?

It was a 50+ point game the last time these two met with City Of Derry the victors. A similar result would be enough to see them crowned.

Dungannon v Armagh, Stevenson Park
Mid table positioning is the only thing at stake in Stevenson Park on Saturday; although an Ulster derby match is never just about the points.

Armagh won the corresponding fixture 21 – 20 on the opening day of the league.

A close game on the cards.

Greystones (4^th) v Sunday’s Well (3^rd), Dr. Hickey Park
Both clubs have earned a promotion playoff spot but the Well could go one better if they win on Saturday and results elsewhere favour them.

Their floodlit win over Highfield last week puts them in with a shot at topping the table.

Greystones won by five early in the season but will there be some calculated risks taken with a view to the playoffs?

Highfield v Bective Rangers, Woodleigh Park
Losing to Cork rivals last week under lights was not part of the plan for Highfield and it could yet cost them the top slot.

Nor will they take Bective lightly after their 20 – 19 win over City of Derry last weekend.

Nonetheless, Highfield should prevail but will it be enough for 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd?

Rainey Old Boys (9^th) v Seapoint (10^th), Hatrick Park
Seapoint will be playing in Division 2C next season and will hope to rebuild after a winless (so far) campaign.

Rainey face the prospect of two playoff matches – against 4^th in Division 2C (currently Wanderers) and against the winners of 2 v 3 in 2C should they prevail.

Saturday’s result is therefore somewhat immaterial, although the home side would like to bring a run of winning form to the playoffs.
