Connacht centre Bundee Aki has been named the province’s Player of the Month for February in association with Hartmanns Jewellers and Seiko Watches.
This season Bundee Aki has amassed 23 appearances, scored five tries and is the only member of the Connacht squad to have started all 19 GUINNESS PRO12 fixtures.
In February, the 25-year-old played in all 80 minutes of the three Connacht games and also dotted down on two occasions.
He grabbed the crucial fourth try for a valuable bonu -point in the 26-21 victory over the Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade. In round 16, he won the man-of-the-match award and scored another try in Connacht’s vital 30-22 win at home to the Ospreys.
Commenting on the February Player of the Month, Connacht team manager Tim Allnutt said: “Bundee certainly deserves this award. He has been one of our most consistent players all season and put in some impressive performances again last month. Having been nominated a good few times, this is the first time he’s actually claimed the accolade so we’re delighted for him.”
Richard Hartmann, director of Hartmann Jewellers, added: “Bundee is one of the most entertaining rugby players we have in the country, let alone Connacht so it’s a great pleasure to present him with this award for February.
“Supporters can see how much he works for the team and what representing Connacht means to him. It’s a really exciting time for the province and everyone at Hartmanns is behind Pat (Lam) and the team for an important run in to the end of the season.”
Hartmanns of Galway are the leading store in the west of Ireland stocking a huge array of the world’s top watch and Jewellery brands. They have been long-time supporters of Connacht Rugby.
