Buccaneers Retain Wilkinson As Head Coach
Buccaneers RFC have confirmed that Brett Wilkinson will continue as their head coach, with an extended contract for the next two seasons.
Retired from professional rugby since 2014, Brett Wilkinson played in Connacht’s front row on 183 occasions and was also capped by Ireland ‘A’, for whom he made six appearances.
Wilkinson will have a wider brief beyond the Buccaneers first team, who reached a promotion play-off and won a Connacht Senior League title during his first year in charge at Dubarry Park.
The 32-year-old – one of a number of promising young coaches working in the Ulster Bank League – will work closely in his broader role with specific team coaches, particularly the Athlone club’s Under-20 and Seconds squads.
