Munster and Ulster kicked off the Junior Interprovincial series with wins over Leinster and Connacht at the weekend.
The Junior Interprovincial series kicked off at the weekend with two high scoring and entertaining games.
In Portlaoise RFC Munster picked up a try bonus with a 43 – 20 win over hosts Leinster. The John O’Neill coached side produced an outstanding second half performance to defeat their Leinster counterparts.
They scored six tries with Dean O’Brien getting two, Sean Herlihy, Warren Kelly, Dan Horgan and Nicky Irwin one each. John Lillis converted five of the tries and also added a drop goal.
Munster will host defending Champions Ulster in Clonakilty RFC next weekend. Ulster kicked off the defence of their title with a 33 – 20 win over Connacht in Enniskillen. They also picked up a try bonus to leave them 2nd behind Munster on points difference.
