Munster will commence their 2016 Kearys Renault Series when they play Italian side Zebre on Friday, August 19 at the Regional Sports Centre in Waterford.
The game against the Italians will be Munster’s first home encounter under new director of rugby Rassie Erasmus and the recently confirmed coaching team.
In what has always proven to be a popular venue, the province returns to east Munster after previously lining out against London Irish there in August 2014. The 5,800-capacity stadium (3000 seated) has also previously held Munster ‘A’ fixtures against Llanelli and Plymouth Albion in the British & Irish Cup.
The following week Donncha O’Callaghan’s Worcester Warriors will provide the opposition for the second round of the Kearys Renault Series with Irish Independent Park confirmed for the Friday night action.
