Reigning Women’s All-Ireland League champions Old Belvedere will kick off their title defence against local rivals Blackrock on Sunday, September 11.
The Old Belvedere women, who finished below their visitors in the table last season, beat Blackrock at the semi-final stage before taking the title against UL Bohemians.
The Limerick club, who topped the league standings last season, kick off at home to Highfield, while Railway Union, the other beaten semi-finalists, open their account away to Cooke.
All-Ireland Cup champions Galwegians are away to St. Mary’s on the opening weekend of the league.
This season sees a new home and away format, thereby extending the league season and allowing for greater preparation for the Women’s internationals in November and the Interprovincial Championship in December. The All-Ireland Cup will run in the latter half of the season.
