Leinster Rule Rob Kearney Out Of Edinburgh Game

Leinster scrum coach John Fogarty has given a squad update to the media in UCD ahead of the trip to Edinburgh on Friday in the GUINNESS PRO12 (kick-off 7.35pm).

Full-back Rob Kearney, who scored a try in the first half of the game against Glasgow Warriors last Saturday, picked up a knee injury and was forced off after 59 minutes.

He had a scan this morning in the Sports Surgery Clinic in Santry and while the full extent of his injury is not yet known, John Fogarty does not expect the injury to be a long term concern. He has though been ruled out of the round 3 clash with Edinburgh this Friday.

Fergus McFadden travelled to Glasgow with the team but was withdrawn before kick-off as a precautionary measure having injured his quad in the Captain’s Run the day before. He took a limited part in today’s training session and will be assessed further later in the week.

In better news for Leo Cullen’s men, both Dave Kearney and Mick Kearney came through their first games back from injury and club captain Isa Nacewa came through a full week of training last week and will be assessed further over the next few days.
