Registrations are now closed for the first ever Sandymount Floodlit Tag Festival which takes place next Friday, October 7th.
IRFU’s official tag rugby programme, Volkswagen Tag, has teamed up with Monkstown FC and Railway Union RFC in Dublin to officially launch this great event.
The IRFU’s David Keane welcomed the move: “We are delighted to be able to support these two great clubs and neighbours in this top quality tag tournament.
“Having a Friday Night Lights tag tournament will certainly have a novelty factor and will enhance the fantastic social scene that IRFU Tag is famous for,” he added.

Monkstown FC President Brendan McGovern said: “We expect this tournament will prove extremely popular with both existing tag teams on the circuit and corporate tag teams looking for Friday night team-bonding event.

Railway Union RFC President Shirley Corcoran said: “We’re excited to join forces with IRFU Volkswagen Tag and Monkstown to kick-off this exciting event that will have massive appeal to guys and girls from all over.
“Tag Rugby is more popular than ever and we’re providing a great opportunity for teams to get together, play tag and have a great night out in Dublin 4.”
