GUINNESS Series Dates And Ticket Prices Confirmed
Ireland will take on the South Africa, Fiji and Argentina at the Aviva Stadium in November as the dates and kick-off times for the 2017 GUINNESS Series are confirmed.
Ireland last played the Springboks in June 2016 when a famous first Test victory on South African soil was secured in Cape Town.
South Africa’s last visit to Dublin was in November 2014 with Ireland convincing 29-15 winners. The opening fixture of the 2017 GUINNESS Series kicks off at 5.30 on Saturday, November 11.
Fiji will make their first appearance at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, November 18 with a 5.30pm kick-off scheduled. Ireland have won the three previous Test fixtures between the two sides, the last of which took place at the RDS in 2009 with Ireland claiming a 41-6 victory. An Ireland XV side beat Fiji at Thomond Park in 2012.
The final game of the 2017 GUINNESS Series sees Argentina return to Ireland for the first time since 2012 when Ireland won 46-24. Since then there has been a number of tough battles between the two sides with Ireland coming out on top during the 2014 summer tour with two victories, and the Pumas claiming the honours at the quarter-final stage of the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The Argentina game will kick off at 5.30pm on Saturday, November 25.
Rugby club members should contact their clubs for details of their ticket allocations, while Irish Rugby Supporters Club members will be able to avail of an exclusive pre-sale on Ticketmaster.ie.
Supporters Club members will also have the chance to attend the always popular match-day event at the Ireland v Fiji match. Details of the pre-sale and general sale will be announced in the coming weeks.
Padraig Power, IRFU Director of Commercial & Marketing, said: “This November’s GUINNESS Series promises to have some added edge with recent fixtures against South Africa and Argentina fresh in the memory.
“Argentina ended Ireland’s Rugby World Cup hopes in October 2015, while the Springboks edged a thrilling Test series last June after Ireland had made history in Newlands. Fiji’s exciting brand of free-flowing rugby will be showcased for the very first time at the Aviva Stadium as the South Sea Islanders play in Dublin for the first time since 2009.
“Tickets for all three GUINNESS Series Tests are competitively priced with another memorable series in store for Irish rugby fans.”
