Following Gloucester’s failure to win tonight’s Challenge Cup final, Connacht’s opponents in next week’s Champions Cup qualification play-off have been confirmed – they will travel to Northampton Saints, Pat Lam’s former club.
Connacht’s hopes of playing in the Champions Cup next season rest on winning two play-off games over the next fortnight. Northampton Saints, who finished seventh in the Aviva Premiership, will have home advantage against the westerners at Franklin’s Gardens next Saturday afternoon (kick-off 4pm).
If the province win that play-off tie, they will host the play-off final at the Sportsground on Friday May, 26 at 7.45pm, with Challenge Cup winners Stade Francais or Cardiff Blues providing the opposition.
Tickets for Northampton Saints v Connacht are available to buy online here. There is no official ‘away’ section but the Connacht Clan Supporters Club have been purchasing tickets in Terrace D.
