Van Staden Called Into Ireland Women’s Squad

Prop Ruth O’Reilly, who made two appearances during the pool stages, has been ruled out of the rest of the Women’s Rugby World Cup. Ulster’s Ilse Van Staden has been called up in her place.

Following medical reviews over the weekend after Thursday night’s game with France, the Ireland management have confirmed that Ruth O’Reilly picked up a back injury and has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament.

Ulster’s Ilse Van Staden has been called into the squad and has joined the group in Belfast. She made her Ireland debut against Scotland during this year’s Six Nations and has four caps to her name.
