The Bateman Cup has a long history stretching back to the 1920s. Last Saturday Sligo added their name to the story when they hosted Division 1A pacesetters Lansdowne in a well-attended semi-final in Strandhill.
There was no fairytale result for Division 2C leaders Sligo as Lansdowne broke clear of them in the second half to record a 34-15 Ulster Bank Bateman Cup semi-final win:
Lansdowne will meet holders Cork Constitution, who defeated City of Armagh in the other semi-final clash, in the Bateman Cup decider in April. Click here for the match reports from the semi-finals.
