Over three thousand supporters braved the cold and the elements yesterday to attend the Ireland open training session at the Aviva Stadium.
Speaking about the session, Ireland scrum half Conor Murray said: “It is great to see so many people here despite the weather. After the weekend there’s a great buzz around, and we can see just how much it means to the fans.”
Jacob Stockdale, who added to his growing try-scoring tally for Ireland with a brace against Wales, was also delighted with the reception from the supporters. “It’s been a super morning, they were so loud we could hardly hear Joe (Schmidt) when we were training,” admitted the young winger.
The Ireland senior squad were joined by Noel McNamara’s Under-20s, who also trained with Schmidt’s side at the open session in Dubarry Park earlier in the Six Nations campaign.
