World Rugby is asking members of the rugby community for feedback on the package of current law trials that are operating globally.
A total package of 11 amendments to law are being trialled, aimed at making the game simpler to play and referee, as well as further promoting player welfare.
They were approved and implemented following extensive game data analysis as well as player, coach, match official and union feedback from the closed tournaments in which they were trialled in 2017.
Feedback from players, coaches, match officials, fans and members of the media will combine with detailed game analysis to provide the specialist Law Review Group with a 360-degree view of how the trials are impacting and being received at all levels of the game.
The Law Review Group will provide the Rugby Committee of World Rugby with detailed considerations from which to make recommendations for the World Rugby Council to consider at its May meeting which amendments are adopted into law before the moratorium on law amendments a year out from a Rugby World Cup.
World Rugby Chairman Bill Beaumont said: “Rugby is a game for all and therefore it is important to us that everyone is able to have a say on the decisions that affects how the sport will be played at all levels.
“This law trial evaluation is an important step in our ongoing commitment to ensuring rugby is as simple and enjoyable to play, coach, officiate and watch as possible and we look forward to receiving the feedback.”
