The referee appointments for the fast-approaching Champions Cup and Challenge Cup semi-finals were announced today, following a meeting of EPCR’s selection committee which is chaired by Joel Jutge, EPCR’s Head of Match Officials.
The selection committee has appointed France’s Romain Poite for the Champions Cup semi-final between number one-ranked Leinster and the Scarlets at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday week, with JP Doyle of the RFU taking charge of the Racing 92 v Munster clash at Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux the following day.
The first of the Challenge Cup semi-finals between last season’s beaten finalists, Gloucester, and Newcastle Falcons at Kingsholm will be refereed by Pascal Gauzère of the FFR, while IRFU international referee John Lacey will be in the middle for the second last-four tie featuring former winners, Cardiff Blues and Pau, at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday week.
