Try Of The Month Launched In Women’s All-Ireland League

This season sees the introduction of the #AILWomensTry of the Month award following a successful trial in the men’s All-Ireland League last season that attracted over half a million views on Irish Rugby channels.

Each month clubs are invited to post the best tries from their Women’s All Ireland League matches on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #AILWomensTry and tagging @irishrugby.

A monthly shortlist of tries will be published and the winner will be chosen by a member of the Ireland Women’s coaching staff.

The scorer of the #AILWomensTry of the Month will receive a voucher for 250 euro, and each of the monthly winners will be entered into a #AILWomensTry of the Season competition with the overall winner decided on a public vote.

Speaking about the initiative, Ireland Women’s head coach Adam Griggs said: “It’s brilliant that the Women’s All-Ireland League clubs have this platform to showcase some of the quality tries I’m sure will be scored this season, and it further highlights the great steps forward we are making around the Women’s game in Ireland. I look forward to seeing the quality on show.”
