Registrations Now Open For ‘Give It A Try’ Host Clubs

Registrations are now open for clubs who would like to become a host venue for the Give It A Try Summer 2019 programme.

Last year over 1,000 girls took part in the 8 week programme at 38 clubs around Ireland. Take a look at how Wicklow RFC enjoyed their ‘Give It A Try’ sessions in 2018.

Registrations are now open for clubs that would like to become a host venue. The Give It A Try programme is an ideal way to kick start the participation of girls in your club or to boost existing playing numbers by attracting new young players to the game with a fun introduction to the sport.

Participating clubs will receive IRFU support which inlcudes ‘Give It A Try’ branded equipment and coaching plans as well as on the ground support from the Women’s Development Officers around Ireland.

Catherine Fleming from Carrick On Suir RFC commented “In 2017 we got 30 girls and we have retained most of them and this year it is better again because we went to all the local schools and we got 68 girls registered for the Give It A Try programme this summer”.
