Lucozade Sport Touch Fit Venues Confirmed For January

The IRFU have announced venues and times for Lucozade Sport Touch Fit classes in 2019. Five cities across the four provinces will stage classes from as early as Monday, January 7.

Lucozade Sport Touch Fit consists of full body exercises with a cardio driving, fun introduction to Touch rugby as part of the session. There are classes operating five nights a week, giving fitness fans even more opportunity to enjoy HIIT sessions with ball in hand.

Touch Fit is built around a team mindset, which means there is a friendly and social element to all sessions.. There are Touch Fit sessions in Dublin on four evenings a week, starting in Wesley College on a Monday and running until Thursday where there are options in both Terenure and Sandyford.

Brian, who is a Touch Fit participant in Terenure, said: “I find Touch Fit to be absolutely brilliant. It takes the boredom out of fitness and makes it fun. Brian Fitz, my trainer, was excellent and makes every class enjoyable and challenging.”

The Olympia Leisure Centre in Belfast is the only place for Touch Fit on a Friday night and is an indoor venue along with Renmore Community Centre in Galway.

Having first got involved in Touch Fit in Galway in June, Sara said: “As someone who really struggles with self-confidence, this is such a great initiative. I went to my first Touch Fit class simply because my friend begged me to go. I’ve been to almost every class since then. It’s a class like no other. Having well-qualified coaches that are so supportive in both fitness and motivational goals leaves everyone leaving sore and smiling.”

Recommending the Touch Fit classes in Belfast, Rebecca said: “I was a bit nervous about my first Touch Fit class because I knew nothing about rugby. I had nothing to worry about because my trainer made the class fun and introduced the rugby element at a level that suited me. The High Intensity Training element was fast paced and challenging helping me to find muscles I never knew I had.”

For anyone in Limerick waiting until mid-January to kick start their fitness, the University of Limerick is out of the blocks on Thursday, January 17. These sessions will take place on the all-weather floodlit park in the North Campus.

Touch Fit is ideal for anyone who wants to work on their fitness while developing core rugby skills. The Cork venue will be particularly special for rugby fans as it gives people a chance to take to the pitch at Irish Independent Park where Munster play four games in the GUINNESS PRO14 this season.
