Ireland Squad Visit Galway Hospice During Training Camp

The Ireland squad are in Galway this week as they continue their Rugby World Cup pre-season training. They were privileged to be able to visit the Galway Hospice on Tuesday to see first hand the wonderful work being done to improve the quality of life for each patient, so that each day can be lived to the full.

The players met with patients and staff during the visit and presented a signed jersey to the hospice as a small token. The hospice care is available to people of any age in the advanced stages of a life-limiting illness.

Speaking about the visit to the Galway Hospice, Ireland team manager Paul Dean said:

It was such a privilege to visit the hospice and to meet the people and staff there. We were very humbled to talk to everyone there and hear their stories. The care is all provided free of charge by the hospice and the atmosphere is so welcoming. It is a visit that the lads won’t forget.”

Training continues in Galway this week and the Ireland players are looking forward to the first open training session of the pre-season period at the the Sportsground on Friday. The event is completely subscribed with all the free tickets taken up in advance.

Friday also marks the launch of Ireland’s Rugby World Cup jersey, another milestone in the build-up to this year’s eagerly-awaited tournament in Japan.

Ireland will play four warm-up matches in the lead up to the World Cup, including the two GUINNESS Series games against Italy and Wales at the Aviva Stadium. Tickets for both games are on sale from ticketmaster.ie –  click here to buy now!
