Best Set To Play Final Match For Barbarians

Former Ulster and Ireland captain Rory Best will play one final game before calling time on a glittering professional career when he represents the Barbarians in their autumn tour fixture against Fiji at Twickenham next month.

Best, who won 124 caps for Ireland during 14 years in the green jersey, will be in Eddie Jones’ Barbarians squad for the clash with Fiji in London on Saturday, November 16 (kick-off 2.30pm). Click here to buy tickets.

The two-time Grand Slam winner will be joined in the Baa Baas squad by France centre Mathieu Bastareaud, Springbok prop Tendai Mtawarira and Ramiro Herrera of Argentina, with more players to be confirmed in due course.

Best commented:

I am delighted and very honoured to be given the chance to play for the Barbarians. It’s long been on my bucket list and I’m very much looking forward to joining the squad to take on Fiji at Twickenham in November.

“Over the years so many illustrious players from around the world have represented the club, and I can’t think of a better way to finish off my career putting on the famous black and white jersey.”

The Barbarians will be coached by England boss Jones for the opening game of their autumn schedule, before they face Brazil in Sao Paulo on November 20 and Wales in Cardiff on November 30.
