Ireland flyer Jordan Conroy has been voted onto the HSBC Singapore Sevens Dream Team after scoring six tries during the latest leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

Conroy was back in the green jersey after his successful stint on RTÉ‘s ‘Dancing with the Stars’, and his explosive return helped Ireland to finish fourth, claiming a first ever win over Fiji along the way.

The public vote saw the Tullamore man make the Dream Team alongside Australia’s Corey Toole and Henry Hutchison, Fijian duo Vuiviawa Naduvalo and Jerry Tuwai, New Zealand’s Regan Ware and Luciano Gonzalez from Argentina.

Conroy took to Instagram to say: “What can I say? It was some return to the World Sevens Series stage. Being back with the boys in green is an honour and to get to the final four was outstanding from the squad. On to Vancouver and we go again.”

He touched down against Fiji (2), Japan, France, the USA and New Zealand as the Ireland men made their long-awaited Singapore Sevens debut after the 2020 tournament was cancelled due to Covid-19.

The 28-year-old previously won 2020 World Series Dream Team and Top Try Scorer honours. He has been voted on tournament Dream Teams in London (2018), Dubai and Cape Town (both 2019).

Coached by James Topping, the Ireland men continue their World Series campaign in Vancouver over Easter weekend. They are currently fifth in the standings, with Terry Kennedy the series’ joint-top try scorer with 27.
