Young Naas winger Andrew Osborne has hit the front as the leading try scorer in Energia All-Ireland League Men’s Division 1B.
Less than 24 hours after his older brother Jamie’s Ireland ‘A’ debut, Andrew bagged a brace of tries as Naas toppled UCC, the early season pacesetters. He now has five tries to his name.
The other main movers in the try-scoring stakes were UCC’s Sean Condon and the St. Mary’s College trio of Conor Hickey, Steven Kilgallen and Hugo Conway, who are all on four tries for the campaign.
St. Mary’s landslide win over Banbridge also helped their centre Mick O’Gara to remain as the division’s top points scorer. He landed seven conversions to take his season’s haul to 56 points, eight ahead of Buccaneers’ Michael Hanley.
