Silvester Brace Moves Him Into Division 1A Top Try Scorer Contention

Last Saturday saw Michael Silvester and Craig Adams gain ground in the race to be crowned top try scorer in Energia All-Ireland League Men’s Division 1A.

Silvester, the former Leinster winger, touched down twice during Lansdowne’s impressive 25-19 win over in-form Cork Constitution. He now has eight tries to his name for the league season.

Terenure’s Adams is one ahead of him on nine, his early score against Ballynahinch proving not enough in the end as the County Down side took the spoils in a gripping encounter at Ballymacarn Park.

He has joined Dublin University flyer Ronan Quinn on nine tries, just one behind the top flight’s leading try scorer, Clontarf hooker Dylan Donnellan.

Quinn’s Trinity team-mate, Aran Egan, scored a try and kicked a conversion in their 43-17 defeat at Shannon. He remains the division’s leading points scorer, accumulating 136 points so far, with only ‘Hinch’s Greg Hutley (110) a close challenger.
