Ireland Sevens Squads Named For HSBC SVNS Series Opener In Dubai

The Ireland Men’s and Women’s Sevens squads, sponsored by TritonLake, have been named for this weekend’s opening HSBC SVNS Series leg in Dubai.

The 2024 season kicks off with the traditional curtain-raising tournament at The Dubai Sevens Stadium, as the Ireland squads get their Olympic year underway in the desert heat.

Harry McNulty captains the Ireland Men, with head coach James Topping selecting an experienced 14-player squad for the first of eight tournaments across the 2024 Series.

Terry Kennedy, the 2022 World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year, is in line for his return to Series action in green, as Ireland go head-to-head with Argentina, Australia and Spain in Pool B.

The Ireland Women, meanwhile, begin their countdown to Paris 2024 in Pool B alongside Australia, Japan and Brazil.

Head coach Allan Temple-Jones has picked a strong 13-player panel to choose from ahead of Saturday’s campaign opener against Japan, with Wicklow native Lucy Mulhall again set to lead the side.

You can watch all of the HSBC SVNS Series action for free on RugbyPass TV, while there will be coverage of Ireland’s progress in Dubai across the new @Ireland7s social media channels.
