RTE To Show Shannon-Garryowen Semi-Final
For those of you who are unable to attend Saturday’s mouth-watering AIB League Division One semi-final between arch rivals Shannon and Garryowen (Coonagh, kick-off 3pm), the game will be broadcast live on RTE Two and also on the RTE website (for viewers on the island of Ireland only).
Live coverage of the game, on RTE Two and www.rte.ie, will begin at 2.45pm on Saturday. Presenter Joanne Cantwell will be joined by analysts Brent Pope and Mark McDermott at Coonagh, Shannon’s home ground this season.
The game will kick off at 3pm with commentary provided by Gary Moran and Tony Ward.
Shannon’s four previous home semi-finals have all been played at Thomond Park so Saturday’s Limerick derby will be a unique occasion at Coonagh.
With a large crowd expected, the Shannon committee have issued the following advice to supporters as access to the ground prior to kick-off has been changed:
Travelling out the Condell Road from the city, you will meet the Clonmacken Roundabout. Take a ‘LEFT’ at this roundabout (not right as this will only take you back down towards Ivan’s Cross) and proceed along the access road currently in place for the new tunnel.
This will lead you into the back of Shannon RFC’s ground at Coonagh. There will be no access through the normal route at Coonagh Cross/Elm Motors, prior to the game.
However, after the game, exit will be by both routes. Please co-operate with the Gardai and stewards on the approach to this roundabout.
