Leicester Confirm Munster Fixture
Munster will round off their pre-season programme of friendly matches with a clash with fellow European heavyweights Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Friday, August 28 (kick-off 7.30pm).
Munster will take on Sale Sharks and London Irish at Musgrave Park on Friday, August 14 and Friday, August 21 respectively, tuning up for the new season.
Their third and final pre-season friendly will see Munster visit fellow two-time Heineken Cup champions Leicester the following Friday (August 28) for a 7.30pm kick-off.
The Sale and London Irish games will both kick off at 7pm.
Leicester have confirmed that special ticket prices will apply for the clash with Munster, with adult admission just £10, juniors £5 and a special family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) £25. Contact the club for further information.
Tigers head coach Richard Cockerill says the Munster fixture can provide a perfect test for his side ahead of the start of the Guinness Premiership.
“We’ve enjoyed some big games against Munster over the years and they are one of the biggest clubs in European rugby,” said Cockerill.
“Munster have a good depth of talent in their squad and we look forward to welcoming them and a decent Bank Holiday weekend crowd to Welford Road. It should be an excellent occasion.”
