Magners League: Round 6 Review
After another eventful weekend of Magners League matches, Ulster’s 16-14 interprovincial derby victory over European champions Leinster has put Brian McLaughlin’s side top of the table – they had been bottom after the first round of fixtures.
Round 6 of the Magners League saw all games end in home victories.
The Evans brothers, Max and Thom, shared three tries between them in Glasgow Warriors’ bonus point win over Connacht at Firhill Arena on Friday night.
Also on Friday, Edinburgh claimed victory over defending Magners League champions Munster, Chris Paterson’s 100% kicking record responsible for all his team’s points.
Meanwhile, in Llanelli, another kicker, Rhys Priestland, a late call-up for the injured Stephen Jones, claimed all of the Scarlets’ points in their victory over regional rivals, the Newport Gwent Dragons.
On Saturday, Cardiff Blues won the all-Welsh derby against the Ospreys in front of a record home crowd of 16,341 at the new Cardiff City Stadium.
