Ryan Suffers Dislocated Shoulder
It has been confirmed that versatile forward Donnacha Ryan dislocated his shoulder in the early stages of Munster’s Magners League win over Edinburgh on Friday, with the injury putting an end to his run in the Ireland squad.
Donnacha Ryan, a recent RBS 6 Nations debutant against Italy, was one of three Munster players who sustained injuries in the early stages of Friday’s 19-12 Magners League triumph over Edinburgh in Cork.
The 26-year-old lock was replaced by Billy Holland in the 12th minute, quickly followed by out-half Paul Warwick and flanker Niall Ronan as Munster’s bad run of luck with injuries continued.
Warwick (dead leg) is expected to be available for Munster’s next Magners League game against the Newport Gwent Dragons on Saturday week.
But Ronan, who, like Ryan, sustained a shoulder injury, will need to wait until further medical examination before the full extent of his injury is known.
