Cork Con To Jazz It Up For Garryowen
Hello and welcome to Jazz Club! Cork Constitution will be jazzing things up for their Ulster Bank League Division 1A clash with Garryowen at Temple Hill this Saturday….Nice!
The day starts off the pitch with the pre-match lunch hosted by guest speaker and former Cork Constitution and Ireland player Moss Finn. Any time Moss speaks you can be sure it will be entertaining and amusing and this Saturday will be no different.
There will be plenty of pre-match action with an age grade blitz and plenty of jazz as well as family entertainment.
The day will also serve as a reunion for some of Cork Con’s legendary overseas tours including the 1980 tour to Canada, the 1986 tour to Italy and the 1992 tour to California.
In addition to the Ulster Bank League points on offer, the two clubs, Cork Con and Garryowen, will also contest the Trevor Barry Memorial Cup.
Trevor was a Cork Con stalwart who passed away ten years ago this season.
Speaking about the day, club spokesman Tony O’Connor said: “Every game against Garryowen in special but we are making it this Saturday even more so by adding in the Trevor Barry trophy, the Jazz weekend and our Under-13s will also be launching their initiative to find Ronan O’Gara’s most memorable score.”
O’Gara has passed 1000 points for Ireland and 2000 for Munster – we all have our favourites but the Cork Con Under-13s want to know what people think is the most memorable!
O’Connor added: “If you are a rugby fan, a jazz fan, a friend of Trevor or a member of one of our old touring teams come down to Cork Con on Saturday for a great family day and a great day of rugby.”
