Reddan, Kirchner And D’Arcy Boost Leinster Back-Line Options
After the Leinster squad’s training session at UCD this afternoon, head coach Matt O’Connor has issued a squad update as they prepare for the visit of Zebre to the RDS in the GUINNESS PRO12 on Friday (kick-off 7.35pm).
Tom Denton, Noel Reid and Richardt Strauss were all removed from the field of play against the Newport Gwent Dragons having shown symptoms of concussion, and as a result the trio are now subject to the return-to-play protocols.
With a game on Friday night, there is not sufficient time for either of the three players above to be cleared to play and as a result they are not in contention for a place in the matchday 23 against the Italians.
However, Eoin Reddan has recovered from the medial knee injury picked up in the recent European Champions Cup game against Wasps and has trained as normal.
Similarly, Zane Kirchner has recovered fully from the leg injury that has kept him out of action since early January. Gordon D’Arcy also trained today and is available for selection at the weekend.
